Happy Sunday, all! The Championship Game of the Men’s NCAA Tournament is set… It’s Florida vs. Houston, as Duke had a bit of a collapse in the final minutes of their loss to Houston. That’s how it goes sometimes, doesn’t it? In the positive spotlight, about ready to make a “name” for yourself… then, in a flash, “fame” slips away. We can all go from the outhouse… to the penthouse… and back to the outhouse in a day (or less).
Fame, as we know it, is very much overrated. And, yet, there is a fame that does matter once we enter a new “world.”
Let’s read Mark, Chapter 3, and I will show you what I mean… Look at verses 14-19…
“The plan was that they would be with him, and he would send them out to proclaim the Word and give them authority to banish demons. These are the Twelve:
Simon (Jesus later named him Peter, meaning “Rock”),
James, son of Zebedee,
John, brother of James (Jesus nicknamed the Zebedee brothers Boanerges, meaning “Sons of Thunder”),

Thaddaeus,
Simon the Canaanite…’”
