May day! May day! Welcome to, for most, the final month of school, AND… the first sign to get out your “Welcome Summer” doormats.
May Day is a traditional spring festival, often associated with the transition from winter to summer. In some cultures, it is also known as Beltane, a Celtic and Gaelic festival marking the halfway point between spring and summer. AND, did you know? In Hawaii, May Day is known as Lei Day, a statewide celebration honoring leis, which are garlands or wreaths made of flowers, leaves, or other materials.
Make today a GREAT day, as we prepare for the new life summer breathes into us!
Let’s wrap up Ecclesiastes today! Chapter 12… and look closely at verse 6…
“Life, lovely while it lasts, is soon over.
Life as we know it, precious and beautiful, ends.”
I want to reiterate how much I love this Book that we have now read through four times this year. We have two rounds to go, and I look forward to next month’s reading already! No, not because I love the tone of Solomon, but because…

11:4 plays into this, and along with 11:6- two of my favorite in Ecclesiasties (with 7:5 hovering in the 1 spot).. but 4 states get after it now, or, sooner than later- whatever it may be.. cuz if you wait for all that you think you need to go “un” or “least” scathed..you may never start
Right on, Kevin!🤙💯
Agree!
It is kinda like a heart artery that has clogged up(Satan says your path is closed) but another artery starts to branch off to start another way to take care of the blood flow to your heart. Yes there is a possibility of a heart attack. But listening to satan will lead you down the wrong path. Jesus has a different path for you to follow. A path of life.
💯💯 Donna!
Sorry I didn’t respond to last week’s offerings. We were on vacay in Ty he Florida Panhandle and we didn’t have good reception; but, we Did have great weather and had to return to central Illinois’ – eeeww!
Anyhow, on a different scale, in ‘94 I rode my bicycle on a 500 mile ride across Iowa in a staged ride that took
6.5 days -and Iowa is not flat. RAGBRAI (it’s name) is not a race, there are scheduled over-night tenting stops with food and local entertainment that bring mega-
bucks to the communities. It is hot at the end of July, weather is an uncertainty, and there are the rolling hills. A ritual is that we dip rear tires in the Missouri River where it starts on the West side of the state where it starts, to hen the front tires (or whole bike) in the Mississippi River on the East side at the end.
There is very little formal Religion involved, to say the least, but it Is a spiritual experience. I did it only, yet others do it regularly. On the road riding by oneself or with groups, fast or slow, uphill And downhill – it’s a great time to ponder and marvel about all things done, left undone, and to-do things.
Good stuff, Ralph!!
Live and live with the expectancy that God has more for you! It ain’t over till it’s over!
YES!!! ALWAYS be on the lookout for what God is up to!! He’s ALWAYS up to something with the people He puts in our path. There are no factors (including age) that make this truth null and void.
