As a recovering sociologist I love three-element Venn diagrams like our Holy Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (noting that that are either triptychs nor trilogies) but three objects in one. So, as PK writes perceiving and hearing are 2 invisible parts of a human process that are incomplete without the Third visible part which is Action – doing something which can be seen, heard, ir shared with someone as multiplication in some form of principled outreach – even sharing our responses here or in other faith-spaced venues.
