Sip #5 – Come back tomorrow as we we roll on with Ecclesiastes, Chapter 4

Hello from stormy Central Illinois! We had lots of rain tonight, and that only means one thing… our dog’s paws are going to be muddy for the next three days or more. Being a pet owner is not always easy, but we will make the best of it.

Our problem is… we don’t have the right kind of dogs for wet, muddy weather. Everybody knows that a “shampoodle” is the best kind of dog for muddy paws. They love taking bubble baths. Haha

Let’s open up the pages to Ecclesiastes, Chapter 3, and look closely at verses 10-13…

“True, God made everything beautiful in itself and in its time—but he’s left us in the dark, so we can never know what God is up to, whether he’s coming or going. I’ve decided that there’s nothing better to do than go ahead and have a good time and get the most we can out of life. That’s it—eat, drink, and make the most of your job. It’s God’s gift.”

  1. Great blog! You are so right. I want to spend time doing what I know and love! I have faith that God has this! No matter what. I do not need to know His plan. All I need to know is he has one and the strength and wisdom to carry it out! I can do all things through Christ! You made such a great point, I don’t want to waste my time worrying about things I don’t know. Thank you

  2. Being in the dark Can be Ok, but sometimes delving too deeply ain’t OK, or even needed; and this Bible study group is more than OK!

  3. We can look at it as being in the dark or we can look at is as walking by faith, not sight. Perspective…..Why do we tend to think that God owes us an explanation?

  4. One of the things I love about not knowing everything is that when God moves in another person’s life, HE GETS ALL THE GLORY! We simply bring Him our requests, our concerns, our troubles and lay them at His feet, then it’s ok to enjoy life, like Solomon attests. We’re not God, and the more we rest in HIS ABILITY and HIS WISDOM, the more freedom we find in life to enjoy it!
