A happy Sunday that has been filled with a cup (or two… or ten) of black coffee for me, after the long day yesterday. I’m prepping my mind for an 18-mile training run this afternoon, as the next marathon is only about 7 weeks away. Dig deep, grasshopper! We can do this! 

Let’s tackle Mark, Chapter 10… Look at the first two verses…

“From there he went to the area of Judea across the Jordan. A crowd of people, as was so often the case, went along, and he, as he so often did, taught them. Pharisees came up, intending to give him a hard time.”

  1. Why do we often feel the need to rebuke people when they are crying out for Jesus? Have we forgotten where we came from? We were once lost too. Or is it we have become prideful or thinking we are better than others? We need to be like blind Bartimaeus, crying louder the more people told him to be quiet.

  2. In our sermon today, based on The Passion, the priest mentioned that the Romans gave Jesus more leeway than did the Pharisees. Hmm sez me to me; but after my internal review of the Gospels they did, including the uncertainty of Pontius Pilate.

  3. I have so enjoyed watching the transformed Jelly Roll encourage, cheer on and cry with singers on American Idol this season. He’s not known as a vocal coach, but he is speaking life into these young people and it’s making a difference! God is still doing a mighty work in him.
