Thirsty Thursday! Cheers! May your coffee be black and your day filled with… Coconut Torte! Yes, every March 13th is National Coconut Torte Day. A day we recognize a rich dessert featuring the decadent flavor of coconut and decorated with it, too! The word torte is German and literally means cake. Torte refers to both a multi-layered cake filled with buttercream, jam, or cream and to a rich, moist and dense single-layered cake. A torte may be made with little to no flour, but instead with ground nuts or breadcrumbs, as well as sugar, eggs, and flavorings. Yum!!
Grab your coffee and let’s dive into Mark, Chapter 10, look closely at verses 13-16… “Some people brought their little children to Jesus so he could touch them, but his followers told them to stop. When Jesus saw this, he was upset and said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because the kingdom of God belongs to people who are like these children. I tell you the truth, you must accept the kingdom of God as if you were a little child, or you will never enter it.’ Then Jesus took the children in his arms, put his hands on them, and blessed them.”
